Dear BASF,

I am enclosing a recipe for Norwegian Apple Pie. I know BASF doesn’t make Norwegian Apple Pie, but I was hoping you could make it better.

Title: Norwegian Apple Pie
Categories: Pies, Low-cal, Fruits
Yield: 2 Servings

  • Egg
  • Sugar
  • 1 tsp Vanilla extract
  • 1 tsp Baking powder
  • 1/2 C Flour
  • Chopped walnuts (optional)
  • Diced apples

Beat egg, sugar, vanilla extract and baking powder together until smooth and fluffy. Beat in the flour until smooth and well blended.

Stir in walnuts and apples. Turn into a lightly greased 8-inch pie plate and bake at 350F for 30 minutes. Pie will puff up as it cooks, then collapse as it cools.

Serve warm, topped with a scoop of ice milk.

I am told this is really a cake and not a pie at all, but that’s a distinction for others to worry about (I just eat the stuff!). My girlfriend says it’s the tastiest thing she’s ever put in her mouth. We’re open to the possibility of something better. We can’t image what could be done to make it so, but you’re the experts here.

How can BASF make Norwegian Apple Pie better?

Sincerely,

Christopher L. Jorgensen
