Dear Fracture,

Your product is described as “Your images printed in vivid color, directly on glass.” This sounds awesome. I can think of tons of photos I would like to have this done to, but I would have no place to hang them. Then I had an idea and thus I have a quick question: If I got some “Fractures” could this be put in a window frame in my house?

The possibilities for this are nearly endless. I could see putting up some fine art nudes in the bedroom to get in the mood and to piss off my neighbors, or some stain glass in the skylight, or pictures of puppets in the studio, or just a big assed narcissistic photo of me in the bay windows.

It would be best if these were printed on energy efficient glass, since I live in a colder clime, and I like to save money when I can, but honestly this isn’t a necessity. The way I see it, the environment is screwed no matter what. My having to pay a bit more to heat my house isn’t going to destroy the world, and having custom printed pictures in all my windows would help make the house a home!

Sincerely,

Christopher L. Jorgensen

Dear Christopher,

Thanks for reaching out to us!  We do think that our product is indeed pretty awesome.  That being said, we always feel like we’ve got a long way to go, so we’ll keep pushing to get better.

I think your idea to place Fractures in window frames is a great one, but unfortunately it’s not a product option that we offer at the moment.  Currently, all of our Fractures come with a black foam core backing which adds a significant amount of durability and safety to the product - but prevents any light from passing through to create the “stained glass” effect you mentioned.

In addition, our glass is regular single strength window pane glass, whose chemical composition isn’t specifically engineered to be energy efficient.  Hopefully one day we can offer a product that’s as energy efficient and environmentally conscious as possible!

Call me an optimist, but I’m still holding out hope that we’ll figure out a way to save the environment - it’s just too amazing to give up on.

In the meantime, my team and I are going to do as much as possible to figure out ways that Fracture can still help turn your house into your home!  Thank you again for reaching out to me and sharing your thoughts.

Cheers,

Abhi Lokesh
