Dear Adbusters,
I was reading your magazine the other day and saw “Adbusters is a not for profit organization. Our magazine is entirely ad free.” I think I see the problem. If you’d run a few ads you could probably turn that lack of profit right around! I’m not suggesting full page objectionable and offensive ads for unethical corporations like google or Facebook, but rather some smaller ads featuring desirable women in tasteful poses demonstrating products everyone wants anyway (like the iPad!). With a minimal amount of nudity I bet you would not only pull in more advertising dollars, but you would increase your readership as well! I’m going to let you in on a secret: Sex sells! People like looking at pictures of scantily clad women.
I worked for Borders for years, in part selling your magazine for a profit, but obviously not a good enough profit. Look at Borders now! I would hate to see your magazine go the same route. I don’t know how much money you need to stay afloat, but a few advertising dollars could only help to defray costs. I would hate to see the print industry go the way of the bookstore!
This is just my suggestion.
Sincerely,
Christopher L. Jorgensen
