Dear Dr. Lisa Dana,
I really hope Assistant Principal Mark Strout and Principal Thomas Murray are valuable employees and aren’t as incompetent as they seem. They are international jokes and are reflecting poorly on the Danvers community. This “meep” incident has gained such notoriety that Danvers high school has become the laughingstock of the internet (even the British are having their chuckles!).
There’s only one respectful out for your subordinates. My suggestion is to have them apologize, concede defeat while they are way behind, declare some random Monday to be “Meep Monday!” and wear pins or shirts that say “Meep meep!” on them. This will show they can admit when they are wrong, have a sense of humor, and serves to take the power away from the students. (It will no longer be cool for kids to run around saying “Meep,” if their principal is doing it as well.) Happily, this is not the course of action I expect anyone to take, so this will only become more entertaining.
I look forward to watching this unfold. Keep it up and even the Dutch will be snickering.
Sincerely,
Christopher L. Jorgensen
