Hey Ed,
I recently read an article on “Boing Boing” about how you guys shut down a charity auction for kids. If this isn’t true, you should sue them for libel! If it is true, well, I want to say, more power to you, man! Thanks for defending the precepts of copyright. Too few people understand these laws.
It’s a sad fact, but kids die of cancer everyday. As much as we would like to there’s nothing you or I can do about this. It’s not like we’re superheroes! If you allow your copyright to be abused and go undefended soon you will have ward after ward of baldheaded terminally ill kids assailing my favorite superheroes like The Batman and Superman.
Now that Heath Ledger is dead, the last thing I want is some cancer kid slowly killing The Batman through copyright infringement. I ask you, what have these kids given back to society that they should feel so deserving of a charity auction? Nothing.
Stick it to ‘em, man! You might even want to make a public statement prior to the release of the upcoming “The Dark Knight” movie about how kids with cancer should just stay at home!
Sincerely,
Christopher L. Jorgensen
