Dear Gary J. Earl,
I know you’re taking a lot of guff in the media for offering up red capes to jobless people. I think this is unfortunate. I am employed, but I would love such a cape. I would wear it to work and run around yelling “Evil beware!” (Unless you think I could get fired for that.) If you could send one red cape to the above address I would be eternally grateful!
This “Cape-A-Bility Challenge” is an amazing campaign. The world needs more heroes. Giving out capes puts the responsibility firmly back on the shoulders of the jobless. This says, “Now you have no excuse. Go out there and get a job!” This bright red cape would make the jobless stand out in a crowd. Then people who have jobs to offer know who to offer them to! And the beauty of this cape giveaway is that if one of these “Handy-Cape-Able” people prove unable to find employment, well, there’s little more versatile than a cape. If two jobless people got together they could turn the capes into a tent or if alone the cape would make a perfect blanket! And, of course, a cape can always be worn as a cape! Capes never go out of style!
Just look at Superman; he has a cape, but then again he has a job too.
I don’t care what everyone else says, I think this is brilliant! I await my cape with much anticipation.
Sincerely,
Christopher L. Jorgensen
