Dear Jessamine County Public Library,
It has come to my attention that one of your patrons has formed an unnatural attachment to “The League of Extraordinary Gentlemen, Volume IV: The Black Dossier” to the extent that she refuses to return it. I can understand Sharon Cook’s reluctance to part with this book, what with the 3D glasses and all that wonderful wonderful nudity! Who wouldn’t want genitalia and breasts popping off nearly every page? Let me tell you, if more books were like this a lot more people would be reading.
I’ve decided to replace this book for you. You can expect a copy in the mail any day now (brand new and still shrink-wrapped). I figure this way Sharon Cook gets to keep her copy and you can have one for the shelf in case other people would also like to read it.
If, for some reason, you decide you have no need to place this back into circulation, you can feel free to sell it in a “Friends of the Library” book sale, or just give it to Beth Boisvert (it didn’t sound like she has a copy).
Oh, and it would be really cool if you put a bookplate in the front that said, “Donated by Christopher L. Jorgensen in remembrance of Marc J. Randazza,” but this isn’t required either. If you do this I would love a picture of it!
Sincerely,
Christopher L. Jorgensen
